SINK #1: Welcome to Glasgow World Tour

Created by ComixTribe

Killer clowns in a blue van, shovel-wielding vigilantes, and the last bus you'd ever want to ride... You must be in Sinkhill. SINK is a series of offbeat, stand alone crime stories, all linked by one shared location: Sinkhill. A forgotten East End district of a warped funhouse mirror vision of Glasgow, Scotland, Sinkhill is a hive of crooks, deviants and killers, and ordinary folk unfortunate enough to live among them.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

End of the Road... And Beginning of the Journey
about 7 years ago – Thu, Mar 02, 2017 at 07:32:46 PM

Hiya!

I hopped on Facebook Live to record a Thank You to Backers for all your support during this campaign. (A few backers were on live asking SINK questions as well.)

Here's a recording of that video for you above.

Just a few more hours to go.

Congrats to Paul Gasp, our final Daily Winner of ComixTribe bonus bundle (and thanks to all of you who supported the campaign!)

Again, thank you one and all.

Your pal,

John Lees

At the Space Needle (Facing Fears in Seattle!) Bonus Stretch Goal
about 7 years ago – Wed, Mar 01, 2017 at 11:00:57 PM

One day to go on SINK... and THE WORLD TOUR is in Motion!

I've left Glasgow and have found myself more than 600 feet in the air at the Space Needle in Seattle.

Did I mention I'm afraid of heights?

With me is my pal Joe Mulvey, who I'm sharing a table with at Emerald City Comic Con this week!

Joe ran a very successful Kickstarter for the SCAM Ultimate Collection a while back (I have a story in there... with SINK co-Creator Alex Cormack, in fact.)

479 awesome backers helped make SCAM happen... and that was the most backed ComixTribe comic book project to date.

But SINK is in striking distance of that total... and I'd love to steal the crown from Joe, which will take hitting 480 backers.

Can we do it?

If we do, ComixTribe will be making an extra special mystery stretch goal available for all backers.

And to help us get even closer to that $15K goal, we're making Joe's SCAM hardcover available as an add-on for +$25 (US) and +$45 INT.  (Regular price $34.99 + shipping).

SCAM is an “X-Men meets Ocean's Eleven″-style series that follows a team of super-powered grifters on the biggest con of their lives...taking down a Vegas casino and getting revenge on a former teammate who double-crossed them.

This is the definitive SCAM collection, a 256-page, full-cover, over-sized hardcover collecting the 144-page SCAM mini-series, and the 100+ page SCAMthology, featuring 15 amazing super-powered heist stories by some of my favorite writers and artists (and also Joe Mulvey.)

Today's Winner Winner - Derek Freeman!

Thanks again for all of your support this month!

One more day!!!

Home STRETCH! Here's what we're fighting for...
about 7 years ago – Tue, Feb 28, 2017 at 11:35:22 PM

It's getting down to the wire!

Last night, Tyler rocked a well-attended talk on 10 Lessons from 10 Successful Kickstarter campaigns.

If you missed it live, the stream will be available on the SINK Kickstarter page for another 36 hours or so.

Can We Unlock More SINK?

As you know, we're now on a mission to hit $15K and unlock one more issue of SINK. Here's a bit more about the issue we're trying to make happen:

Chapter 6

Artisan Burger

Ahead of the launch of trendy new restaurant Aristan Burger Co in Sinkhill, local burger blogger James Sutherland is invited to interview owners Harry and Blossom Melbitoste on the premises.

But James quickly becomes convinced there is something deeply suspicious about this hip new eatery.  And just what is the irresistible secret ingredient in those delicious burgers?

Again, we're thrilled that SINK has been expanded from 4 to 5 issues... but it would be SWEET if we can do one more.

Also, will John see any of you at EMERALD CITY COMIC CON this weekend?  Leave a comment below if you'll be there!

#5 Unlocked! Iain Laurie Art Auction! 10 Kickstarter Big Kickstarter Lessons!
about 7 years ago – Mon, Feb 27, 2017 at 09:42:42 PM

Hope you had a great weekend. Three big SINK updates!

SINK #5 is a Go!

Over the weekend, we passed the huge $10K Milestone, which means SINK will be upgraded to 5 issues, not just 4.

So, every one of you pledging at the $39+ Series Subscription levels just saw your comics bounty increase 25% at no extra charge!

There is still one more issue of SINK we'd love to unlock at the $15K Level, so we're going to continue to push for getting the full series funded over the next 3 days.

Get Iain Laurie's Original Cover to the UK Exclusive Cover of SINK #1!

That auction last this week was fun, wasn't it?  I was pleased to see the artwork of Joe Mulvey go to a loving home.

You ready for another one?

Scotland's finest, Mr. Iain Laurie, has graciously agreed to make the original art over his horrifying "DICKHEADS" Cover available to backers during this campaign.

We're going to do an auction in the comments once more, and not only will it include the original pencil and ink on bristol board work, but it will also include a copy of AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE Vol. 1 Signed by writer John Lees and Artist Laurie.

Suggested value of this package is $250.00...

But we'll start the bidding at just $39.

Note, an additional postage charge of $20 will be required for backers outside of the UK. (No extra shipping charge for backers pledging inside the UK!)

To place a bid, all you need to do is reply in the comments section.

Bidding will run until 10PM EDT tonight.  Good luck!

And remember, everyone can get Iain's UK Exclusive Cover as an add on for +$10 US/UK (+$15 INT).

Speaking of Tonight: Kickstarter Live - 10 Biggest Lessons from 10 Successful Kickstarter Campaigns -- 9 PM EDT

ComixTribe publisher Tyler James will be doing a special Kickstarter Live broadcast here on the SINK page tonight sharing the #1 crowdfunding lessons he's learned from each of 10 successful Kickstarter campaigns.

Tyler hosts the weekly ComixLaunch.com podcast which is a show all about the mindset, strategies, and tactics independent creators use bring their creative projects to life... so if you're getting ready to launch, you need to watch this.

The virtual doors will open at 8:50 PM and Tyler's presentation will begin promptly at 9PM EDT.

He'll also be sticking around after the 10 Lessons to field any Kickstarter Q&A questions.

Have a Kickstarter question?

Click here to submit it, and to sign up for a reminder to watch this live broadcast tonight!

400 Strong and a New Cover!
about 7 years ago – Fri, Feb 24, 2017 at 04:45:59 PM

Wow!

SINK is 400 Backers Strong today!

Now, the only question is whether or not we can top Joe Mulvey's SCAM and become the ComixTribe comic project with the highest backer count ever.

(Only 80 backers will get us there!)

Today: Something Extra Special

I'm very excited to reveal the final cover for SINK #1, featuring poor Allan being tormented by the Dickheads.

SINK #1C: DICKHEADS is special because this will be a UK Exclusive Cover that will only be available at UK Conventions and in our partner retailers in the UK.

It's drawn by none other than Iain Laurie, my artist partner on AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE. I was so excited to get my regular collaborator into the world of SINK, I've been wanting him to do a cover for us pretty much since the project was first in development.

He brings that added authentic layer of grimy monstrosity to these characters that only someone who has lived within the belly of the beast that is Scotland can truly capture!

The only time this cover will be made available outside the UK is through this Kickstarter campaign.

So any completists out there who want every cover will be able to add it to your current pledge for an additional +$10 for US/UK Backers (+$15 everywhere else!)

I've also added the AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE Vol. 1 Trade to this campaign as an add-on for those of you who want to experience my first foray in Scottish horror.

We're SOOO close to unlocking SINK #5, I can taste it!
